AFTER all these years of wasting the people’s money on Sen. Antonio Trillanes from his days as a cadet at the Philippine Military Academy to his stint as a Procurement Officer in the Philippine Navy till today as senator, he finally did something for the country which gave the people something to laugh about.
This meltdown of Antonio Trillanes happened on international television, specifically in a half-hour interview by British journalist Stephen Sackur in his program “HARDtalk” over BBC television.
In that interview Trillanes exposed himself as a buffoon with absolutely nothing between the ears.
To put it more clearly, Trillanes literally shot himself in the foot and that made majority of the Filipino people who watched that HARDtalk interview happy. I’m surprised there was no dancing in the streets; it must be the rainy season.
Trillanes finally met his match in a seasoned journalist who has not drunk from the “anti-Pres-Aid.”
Here are some comments Stephen Sackur said during that interview:
“It’s not easy for me to judge but looking at the comments made by the general public in Manila to news agency, they say things like ‘the streets are safer now, here in the Philippines we needed a ruler with an iron fist.’”
“These are quotes from the general public. That seems to be the mood. The ratings for PRD still remain high, 75 percent approval rating. I’m just wondering whether your comments, which are constantly negative, are out of tune with ordinary Filipino opinion.”
Sackur then brought up Senator Trillanes’ attempts to overthrow past administrations.
“Let’s talk about your coup attempt in 2003 which lasted for… let’s face it. Just a day.”
Trillanes appeared as a bumbling philippine idiot when faced with these comments and was at a loss for words to explain why he was against PRD.
Moi especially liked that comment about Trillanes’ coup attempts “let’s face it, just a day” done in that typical dry British humor it was sarcasm to the hilt.
In plain English it simply means Trillanes is a failure as he could not even launch a proper coup which just lasted a day with him (Trillanes) ending up in the six o’clock news and in the front page of newspapers. As Manila Standard’s Jojo Robles said, “Trillanes was humiliatingly pulled out of the Peninsula Hotel by his waistband. Try as he might, Trillanes will never make us forget his spectacular debacles.”
Here’s more from Jojo Robles in a June 23 edition of the Manila Standard:
“Asked about the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Philippines, Trillanes came up with the totally incredible and unsupported claim that the number of drug addicts was a lot less than what PRD and his officials are saying. He even denied that “shabu” — known abroad as crystal meth — was the drug of choice in the Philippines, saying that marijuana was actually the most abused narcotic in the land.
When Sackur demanded to know if Philippine Idiot Trillanes was a “democrat,” the senator could only say that he belonged to the Nacionalista Party. “I’m not asking about your political affiliation,” the presenter said, probably wondering if all Filipino senators were as dumb as the person he was interviewing.”
Let’s take a look at that absurd claim by Trillanes that marijuana is the drug of choice of the addicts in the Philippines. Firstly, Trillanes said that to downplay the actual drug problem in the Philippines so that it will appear that the anti-drug campaign’s exaggerated. Unfortunately for him Stephen Sackur did his research and threw his blatant lie out the window.
Or, Trillanes cannot tell the difference between “shabu” or crystal meth and marijuana which of course shows that he is an idiot who just lumps it all together.
And third, he is all of the above which moi believes he is.
Then again what can we really expect from a sailor pretending to be a soldier who has never seen the frontlines, never fired a shot in defense of the country and never experienced being shot at by enemies of the republic.
Nothing of course. Trillanes is a complete waste of taxpayers’ money, a loser and a failure that cannot even launch a proper coup and is best remembered as that coward who surrendered without firing a shot and was humiliatingly pulled out of the Peninsula Hotel by his waistband.
